Security guard watching over a construction site with cranes behind

Keep the build on programme

A building site changes every week. Fences move, plant arrives, new trades turn up at the gate. We guard and patrol the site, control who comes in and protect plant and materials overnight, so a break-in doesn't cost you days.

Theft costs more than what's taken.

Stolen cable or a damaged excavator means delays, insurance claims and trades standing idle. Most site losses happen at night, through a gap someone found in the fence.

Where we fit

Where Ignis Shield fits on a building site.

The services contractors ask for, matched to each phase of the build.

  • Guarding the site

Licensed officers on the gate and the compound, from groundworks to handover.

    Construction security
  • Dog patrols

Handlers and working dogs walking fence lines, stores and scaffold at night, where a lone guard would struggle.

    K9 units
  • Fences, towers and alarms

Hoarding, gates and concrete blocks at the boundary, with mobile CCTV towers and wireless site alarms that call an officer out.

    Fencing, barriers & site alarms
  • Gate control

Sign-in checks for workers, visitors and deliveries, so only inducted people get on site.

How it works

From site survey to handover.

  1. 01

    Site survey

We walk the site with your site manager: gates, hoarding, compounds, plant and weak points.

  2. 02

    Plan

Guarding hours, patrol routes and gate rules agreed, then changed as the site changes.

  3. 03

    On site

Officers and dog teams book on, patrol, check gates and log every round.

  4. 04

    Report

Patrol logs and incident reports after every shift, with photos wherever there's damage.

FAQ

Questions site managers ask us.

Can cover change as the build moves on?

Yes. We review the plan with you as the site changes, adding or cutting cover between phases.

Do you provide fire watch on site?

Yes. We can run fire watch patrols, for example after hot works or before the fire systems are live.

How do dogs help on a building site?

A handler and dog cover large, dark areas quickly and put intruders off. UK law requires a guard dog to be under a handler's control, and ours always are.

Can you start at short notice?

Often, yes, after a break-in or a gap in cover. Call us and we'll tell you straight what we can do.

What reports do we get?

A patrol log and incident report after every shift, so you have a record for your client and your insurer.
