FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

What clients ask before booking cover, and what officers ask before applying. If yours isn't here, call or email and a person will answer.

For clients

Are your officers SIA-licensed?

Yes, where the role needs it. Guarding, door supervision, public space CCTV and close protection each have their own SIA licence, and we check every officer holds the right one before they start.

Compliance & welfare
How quickly can you get someone on site?

Often at short notice, especially after a break-in or a failed alarm. For planned cover, we agree a start date once the survey and plan are done.

How we work
What do you need to protect a building site?

Usually an officer on the gate, patrols of the fence line and plant, and a sign-in for everyone coming through. Bigger or riskier sites may add CCTV towers or a dog team overnight.

Construction security
Can your officers help cut shop theft?

Yes. Retail officers are seen on the shop floor, watch the high-risk aisles and tills, and know how to deal with a shoplifter calmly and within the law.

Retail security
Do you supply door supervisors for bars and events?

Yes. Our door staff hold SIA door supervision licences. They check ID, manage queues and numbers, refuse entry where needed and calm things down before they escalate.

Door supervision
Can you fit and respond to alarms?

Both. We can fit intruder alarms and connect them to monitoring, and when one goes off a response unit attends, checks the premises and calls the keyholder.

Alarm systems & response
Do you install and monitor CCTV?

Yes. We plan camera positions, fit HD or thermal cameras, set up recording and remote viewing, and can have operators watch the feeds live.

CCTV surveillance
What is a waking watch?

Trained officers patrol a building continuously, looking for signs of fire and ready to raise the alarm and help people out. It's often used where the fire alarm or the building's fire safety needs work.

Waking (fire) watch
How do you protect an empty building?

Locks and boarding checked, regular patrols inside and out, alarms or CCTV where useful, and a log of every visit so you can prove the property was inspected.

Vacant property security
Can you staff a reception or concierge desk?

Yes. Our front of house officers greet residents and visitors, issue passes, sign for deliveries and keep track of who's in the building.

Residential concierge
When does a K9 team make sense?

On large or dark sites, open yards and empty buildings, where a dog can search and cover ground faster than an officer alone. The handler holds an SIA licence and the dog stays under their control.

K9 units
Do you offer close protection and chauffeurs?

Yes. SIA-licensed close protection officers plan routes, venues and timings for the person they protect, and our chauffeurs drive with the same discretion.

Close protection
Can you remove squatters or travellers from our land?

Yes, lawfully. We check which route applies, whether that is common-law rights, a court order or a writ, and bring in certificated enforcement agents where the law requires them. Once the land is clear, we secure it so nobody comes straight back.

Evictions & land recovery
Do you clear fly-tipping and abandoned vehicles?

Yes. We arrange removal of dumped rubbish and abandoned vehicles, and hazardous waste goes with licensed waste carriers to permitted sites. Fencing or patrols afterwards help stop the next load being dropped.

Site clearance & fly-tip removal
What do detection dogs search for?

Drugs, explosives or firearms, depending on how the dog is trained. A handler always works the dog, at venue doors, event gates, warehouses or before a high-profile visit.

Detection (sniffer) dogs
Can you stop car meets in our car park?

Yes. Officers and marked vehicles at the times meets usually happen, often with barriers or gates to close the entrances. Every visit is logged, which helps if you need to involve the council or police.

Car meet prevention
What reports will we get?

A patrol log for every shift and a written report whenever something happens: what was checked, what was found and what the officer did.

For job applicants

Do I need an SIA licence to apply?

For front-line roles, yes. Security officers, door supervisors, CCTV operators and close protection officers each need the matching SIA licence before they can be deployed. If yours is being renewed, tell us when you apply.

Which roles do you recruit for?

Security officers, door supervisors, concierge and front of house staff, CCTV operators, K9 handlers, close protection officers and chauffeurs. Say which ones you're interested in.

Do I need experience with working dogs?

Only for K9 handler roles, where it's strongly preferred. For every other role it's a bonus, not a requirement.

What checks will you run?

We confirm your identity, your right to work in the UK and your SIA licence before you start, and ask about your previous work.

What shifts are available?

Days, nights and weekends, depending on the site. Door and event work is mostly evenings, and a lot of patrol and K9 work is overnight, so be honest about when you can work.
